CatholicACTS Apologetics Ministry Releases Original Music CD and Booklet

“Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it with gentleness and reverence . . .

1 Peter 3:15-16.”

This Scripture passage has become the foundation for a new Saint Bernadette’s Ministry called CatholicACTS that actually began almost two years ago. CatholicACTS is designed to provide participants ages seventeen and older with a reasoned understanding of our Catholic Faith to be able to charitably explain and defend Catholic doctrines and beliefs using Scripture, Tradition, history, logic and common sense.

The “ACTS” part of the ministry’s name is actually an acronym meaning “Apologetics” through “Community”, “Teaching” and “Song”. . . yes, song! The community and teaching part of this apologetics ministry actually occurs each last Wednesday of the month from 7-9 PM in the school community room and is open to folks from other parishes as well. Although each monthly class typically ends with a song specifically selected to complement the topic of the evening, the song component of CatholicACTS has just recently become more significant.

CatholicACTS has recently released its first collection of original Catholic music called Passages. The Passages CD and accompanying booklet is a collection of contemporary songs (in the styles of James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, CSN&Y, and other well-known artists of the 70’s) with a Catholic, faith-based message.
